Could Kirk Survive?
If you haven't seen the trailer for the new Star Trek movie, then check it out here.
There's a part where James T. Kirk jumps from a car and then stops himself from sliding off the edge of a cliff as the car goes flying off the edge. Apparently someone at Popular Science (one of my favorite magazines) went ahead and calculated whether or not it was possible for Kirk to do this. The nice folks on Gizmodo put together a pretty great video about all this. Pretty interesting.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine !!!
Yes!!! This movie looks amazing. I've loved all of the X-Men movies. I feel like they were the first of the new wave of comic movies we've seen in the past few years that are finally being done right thanks to great special effects, writing, acting, and directing. Oh yea... Gambit hits the big screen in all his card chucking glory in this movie.X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE HD

What if The Matrix Ran on Windows?
HILARIOUS Collegehumor.com spoof of The Matrix. I haven't been to Collegehumor in years, but the nice folks at Gizmodo had this up. It's really really well done. Impressive graphics and all. It even stars very close representations of the original actors except for a slightly more Napoleon Dynamite version of Keanu.
Hype.

Iron Man vs. Ghostface
I can't believe this is my first post in October. I guess I've been slacking for a few days. More like busy with work, but that's neither here nor there. The wife and I went to Circuit City today to pick up Iron Man on DVD. I LOVE THIS MOVIE. If you haven't seen it, you're killing yourself. When the movie came out in theaters, I was surprised that Ghostface Killah didn't have even a small cameo in the movie. It was really disappointing.
BUT...
Then I watched the DVD today. There's a scene in which Tony Stark is on his private plane with Terrance Howard's character. They start drinking and there's a music video playing in the background. The music you hear is none other than the Wallaby Don himself. You can catch a glimpse of him on the screen behind the actors. It would have been better if he had actually been on screen at some point, but it's still pretty hype if you ask me.

Charlie Bartlett

If you haven't seen Charlie Bartlett, then you must! I had only seen the preview once, but I just got it in the mail from Netflix today and figured I'd give it a go. I was surprised by how much I liked it. I won't go into detail about what it's about, but you'll get the gist of it from the trailer below. But it's WAY funnier than the trailer. I usually hate when they squeeze a love story into a movie, especially a teenage love story, but it was really, really well done. It kind of has a Ferris Beuller feel to it. Also, Robert Downey Jr. aka IRON MAN is in it. It's gotta be good.

"Suckas Break Like Turbo and Ozone"
Extra credit if you can place that quote.
I don't know if the rest of you 80s babies did too, but my brother and I had Breakin' on VHS tape and watched it a few times every week for YEARS.
We'd put it on, move the furniture to the side and practice our six-step, top rock, backspins.
Basically, Breakin was the shizzy. Our original tape has been lost for years. It's probably in a landfill in Jersey by now. So I decided to relive my youth through the magic of Youtube.
You know what I realized after watching some of it? Turbo and Ozone look GAY AS HELL. Ok. I'm not saying it was gay. I'm just saying there was a lot more fruity stares and hand holding than I remember. haha.
You can even see them "Do the Homie" during the first battle scene. Peep it:
"I'd burn any girl that put her face in front of me." HAHA. Suspect...
BUT this is a classic scene:
She was my first love.
Anyway... Another classic, the broom scene:
I tried that ish a million times and couldn't figure out why it didn't work.
Peep Van Damme as an extra. This was out in '84 before he was the Muscles from Brussels.
Last but not least, 2 dope scenes from Breakin 2:
(also gay, but still dope)
THIS IS STILL THE FRESHEST ISH EVER"
